What font is that?

Fontsight's headline is close to a question people search about 52,000 times a month in the US ("what font is this"), which the hero answers on the spot by setting each word in a different typeface and labeling it. The words "actually rendered" in the subhead point to the problem Fontsight was built around: the font a site's CSS asks for isn't always the one your browser draws.

Why this H1 works:

  • The dashed box around the "f"
mimics the extension picking a letter

  • "then press Alt Shift F"
keycaps show the step after install

  • "Try it on this page"
    test the inspector before installing

  • "who made it, and the CSS to use it"
two extras beyond the font name
