Turn your Mac into a time machine.

A "Time machine," as a concept, is a pillar of our culture’s imagination, and it’s doing the heavy lifting here. Everyone already knows what it means, and for Mac users it leans on the familiarity of Apple's own Time Machine backup tool. Either way you land on the idea before the product has to explain itself.

Nostalgia is a strong pull, especially in tech, where every decade brings more than one revolution and keeping up gets exhausting. RetroMac offers a reversion to simpler times, and it does it in a fun way. The subhead makes the idea tangible: a glowing CRT, a classic Macintosh, a VHS tape, one click. The hero shows the effect running live in a retro window, so the feeling shows on screen instead of being described.

More broadly, a reference (like “time machine”) your audience already feels something about carries weight your own copy would otherwise have to build from scratch.

Why this H1 works:

  • Uses a pre-installed idea
"time machine" needs no explanation, the meaning is inherited instantly

  • Taps nostalgia as relief
it offers a break from the exhausting pace of tech, a return to simpler times

  • Strong before and after contrast
modern Mac to glowing CRT is a vivid jump packed into one short line

  • Subhead makes it tangible
CRT, classic Macintosh, VHS tape, one click: specific outputs you can picture
